Today’s Lexi:

Anitho — Dill

In Today’s Episode:

In today’s episode Kefi L!fe welcomes back Thea Parikos of Thea’s Inn on the island of Ikaria in Greece. Kiki and Thea do chickpea talk in the midst of a great conversation outlining the essential foods necessary to cook Ikarian style.

How does Thea use extra virgin olive oil in her cooking? How does it compare to the use of butter?

Garlic and onions are two of the basics, but did you know that garlic aids in combating Alzheimer’s and garlic is a great natural antibiotic for clearing up a cough when added to honey? Thea shares this recipe. Oregano a must and so is mint and parsley.

Wine in moderation and the island prides itself on Pramneios vino which its ancient grapes are referred in the Clsasics For thousands of years Ikaria has been famous for its wine. In Homer’s Odyssey, there is mention of the Ikarian “Pramneios Oinos”, a strong deep red wine that was highly valued in the ancient world.
