My guest today is George Packer – journalist, novelist, author, playwright. He writes regularly for The Atlantic, and just published a new book, “Last Best Hope: America In Crisis and Renewal”. In it, he suggests we are in a state of a cold civil war between four factions who share virtually no overlap: Free America, Smart America, Real America and Just America. I’m not sure I buy into his theory, though he does make some important points. At the top of the show, I’m joined by “Boca” Brit Somers who was at the Ft. Lauderdale Pride Parade on Saturday, where she missed getting hit by the truck that drove into the crowd, killing one person and injuring at least one other. Brit will tell us what happened.
