27. Choose Yourself (with Denise Morrison)

27. Choose Yourself (with Denise Morrison)

Denise was a super shy, introverted girl who learned how to overcome emotional eating and self-abusive habits to become a dedicated and vibrant Physical Therapist, Yoga teacher and finally, a Transformational Health & Life Coach. She lives in Norfolk, Virginia with her Kiwi husband Steve, a Professor and her Aussie-born son. She loves to travel, laugh, go to concerts and drink Nespresso. She loves to be “the person” to help her clients on a whole new, intimate level. She listens, watches, and senses the experience that her clients are having like no one else so she can quickly and lovingly lead them on their purposeful transformational journey.

In this episode:

  • Denise shared the situations that led to her becoming an emotional eater and adopting other self-abusive habits.
  • She made choices to remove her from the difficult situation and found help to overcome those challenges.
  • She learned how these habits helped her to feel safe and have control in difficult situations and during a highly intensive program of learning to be a physical therapist.
  • She shared how she works with women who have gone through similar challenges as she did and how it has impacted them.
  • We talked about the process she goes through to help them move past these sabotaging behaviors and how being a Doctor of Physical Therapy helps her see things that others may not.
  • We also talked about the inner critic or mean girls that are in our heads and how she has found ways to deal with them.
