Story Begins: 10:09

Park Picnic Excerpt:

Sunshine slipped through the blinds into Ella’s room. The happy sunshine brightened her room, gently waking the little girl. Ella stretched and then hopped out of bed with a smile. Today, she was going to meet her new friend, Kumar, in the park. Ella got dressed and headed downstairs for breakfast. As usual, she was the first one up, so, Ella began to set the table. As she placed the napkins and silverware at each seat, her dad came downstairs and said, “Thank you for setting the table. I guess I’d better get cooking.” Ella gave her dad a big hug and finished setting the table. The scent of breakfast cooking wafted upstairs, waking Tracy, Tom and their mother. They eagerly sat down at the table and gobbled up the food Ella and her dad had made. Breakfast done, their mom said, “Enjoy your day at the park Ella, we’ll clean up the breakfast dishes.” Ella grinned and looked at the clock. It was time to go and meet Kumar.

Ella skipped all the way to the park. Once the park was in sight Ella began searching for any sign of Kumar. She couldn’t find him anywhere. Ella turned to her dad and asked, “I don’t see Kumar anywhere.”
