Specifically, talking about the rise of hair metal in the 1980’s, and the success of bands like Motley Crue, Quiet Riot, Dokken, W.A.S.P., Poison, Great White, Warrant and many, many more bands that oversaturated the metal genre by the decades end. Despite the sharp decline in commercial success starting with the grunge movement, hair metal for the past 2 decades has had a legacy as a great nostalgia trip and its legacy is still being felt and is a genre widely loved by many rock fans to this day.
